Trip Information

Niederau 2025
January 4th - 11th 2025

On the Niederau ski trip there are 5 half day of lessons (15 hours in total) with instructors from the local Austrian ski school. Specialist equipment such as Dynamique and Bi-Unique are also provided as and when required. On your non-skiing time you can make the most of the hotel wellness facilities and swimming pool, or take the opportunity to sample the delights of the very Austrian town of Niederau. The trip organiser will discuss everything with you.

Note: - 15 hours of lessons in the UK on their own will cost in the region of £1050.

La Plagne

The La Plagne ski trip is predominantly for independent skiers but there are opportunities for beginners and dependant skiers who need extra support and assistance on the ski slopes. The trip includes 6 days of social skiing over 400km of groomed piste, accessed by 75 chair lifts. The hotel has a lively bar and entertainment area for after ski relaxation. La Plagne centre is a 15 min walk away, but be warned its uphill all the wat back to the hotel. Tessier Mono and Duel skis are available if required.

  • How will I travel.
    La Plagne Flying from Gatwick, Bristol, Birmingham or Manchester some airports have a surcharge. Niederau Flying from Gatwick, Birmingham or Manchester some airports have a surcharge.
  • What if I dont have my own equipment
    La Plagne Mono and duel skis are available for hire from Snow Buddies. Niederau Dynamique or Bi-Unique are provided with the ski lessons. If you want to bring your own equipment please ask. Dynamique Bi-Unique
  • How much will the trip cost me
    La Plagne The prices include, flights minus any suppliments, La Plagne 6 day lift pass with carre neige insurance, coach transfer from the airport and hotel and return. It does not include ski hire or ski carriage. Skiers £1200 First time helpers £1000 Return helpers £800 Carers £800 (no lift pass included) Friend/Family member £1300 Niederau The prices include, flights minus any suppliments, Niederau 6 day lift pass (except for carers), coach transfer from the airport to hotel and return. Half board in the 4* hotel. Ski instructor as required and Equipment. A note for skiers: - If taken in the UK the ski lessons alone would cost over £1000.   • What are the dates of the trips
    La Plagne Outward flights Saturday 9th of Match. Return flights Saturday 16th March. Niederau - Jan 2025 (Dates TBC) Flights TBC
  • Are the Hotels full board
    La Plagne Yes the Hotel MMV Aime 2000 is full board with lots of choices to suit all tastes. Niederau The Hotel Sonnschein is half board, buffet breakfast, and 4 course evening meal with plenty of choices for both.
  • Do I need to take a PSA or Carer
    For all trips. Our helpers cannot provide any form of personal care. They will help at meal time, in the ski room with equipment, transfers and give you all the support and assistance you need when out skiing. If you require a PSA or Carer at home it is more than likely that you will need your PSA or Carer in resort. If in doubt please ask.
  • What hotel will I be staying at.
    La Plagne Hotel MMV Aime 2000, ski in ski out above Plagne Centre. Niederau Hotel Sonnschein situated in the centre of Niederau
  • Are there places on both trips for Skiers and Snowboarders
    All trips. Yes Skiers and Snowboarders are more than welcome on all of our trips but places are dependent on the availability of suitable helpers. Our policy is to support both skiers and snowboarders with disabilities whenever possible. If you want a place on one of our trips, please check with with us first before committing to time off of work etc.

For next year there are no guaranteed places , Priority will be given to those with the greatest need. Before you commit be sure that what is available satisfies your requirements.

Membership

Everyone who travels with Snow Buddies must hold a current membership to benefit from our liability insurance the current cost of member is £5per year, Billed as part of your booking. This applies to skiers, helpers, friends, family members and PSA’s.

Accomodation

The hotels used by Snow Buddies all provide accessible accommodation and facilities and are ski in ski out.  A conversation about your requirements will be required before booking can be completed. If you have any questions about your particular needs, please do not hesitate to ask.

Snowboarders

Snowboarders with disabilities are more than welcome on one of our trips but places are dependent on the availability of suitable helpers. Our policy is to support snowboarders with disabilities when possible. If you are a snowboarder wanting a place on one of our trips, please check with a member of the Snow Buddies team before committing to a trip.

Skiers

 Places are available for skiers with disabilities in the following catagories.

  • Indepentant skiers happy on blue and red runs.

  • Dependant skiers using a sit ski or a piloted duel ski.

  • Learners and improvers who require lessons.
